On board a Jay Street-Metrotech bound R179 A train from Inwood-207 Street to Jay Street-Metrotech
Seen here is a ride on a A train operated by R179s bound for Jay Street-Metrotech.
Due to track work along Fulton Street, A trains were split into two sections:
1. Lefferts Blvd/Far Rockaway to/from Utica Avenue via Local.
2. Inwood-207 Street to/from Jay Street-Metrotech.
Free shuttle buses replaced the A line making all A train stops along the way. Also, A trains did went via the F line to West 4 Street due to track work on the Manhattan bound side, then local in Manhattan all the way to 125 Street due to Structural maintenance. C trains weren’t running in Brooklyn since it only stayed in Manhattan to World Trade Center.
I was hoping to wait for an R179 since there were a few running in on the other side of Brooklyn, and took it all the way to Jay Street-Metrotech, where later it would go into relay under the Bergen Street abandoned station.
Please Note: subway service is fully 24/7 again, but doesn’t mean you should take off your mask when riding public transportation. Always wear a mask when riding the subway or buses, be at least 6 feet from others around you, and in case you need to adjust your mask, wear gloves when adjusting. Enjoy!
