Omega-3s May Speed Up Muscle Recovery After Exercise

A systematic review of randomized controlled trials found that omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) from fish oil may reduce muscle soreness and damage after workouts. The research, conducted on healthy adults aged 20–50, showed lower muscle pain and faster recovery following both single sessions and longer training programs. Scientists believe omega-3s help reduce the inflammation triggered by intense exercise.
