The National War Memorial is a monumental tribute in New Delhi dedicated to the Indian Armed Forces who sacrificed their lives in armed conflicts since independence. Located near India Gate in the Central Vista, it spans 42 acres and was inaugurated on February 25, 2019.

The memorial is built in a series of four concentric circles symbolizing various aspects of a soldier's duty and sacrifice:

Amar Chakra (Circle of Immortality): The innermost circle, featuring a 15-meter obelisk and the eternal flame (Amar Jawan Jyoti), which symbolizes the immortality of fallen soldiers.Veerta Chakra (Circle of Bravery): A covered gallery featuring bronze murals depicting six major battles fought by the Indian Armed Forces.Tyag Chakra (Circle of Sacrifice): Concentric, circular walls of honor resembling an ancient Chakravyuh formation, with granite tablets etched in gold bearing the names of more than 26,000 fallen heroes.Raksha Chakra (Circle of Protection): The outermost circle made up of rows of trees that represent the soldiers protecting the nation's territorial integrity.

Additionally, a dedicated area in the complex features busts of the 21 soldiers who were awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest gallantry honor.
