In this episode, we implement forced capture, one of the most important rules in real checkers games.

In official checkers rules, if a capture is available, normal moves are illegal. That rule applies globally across the entire board — not just the selected piece. In this tutorial, we enforce that rule step by step using clean, professional game logic.

What you’ll build in Episode 7:

A global capture detection system

Logic to force players to capture when required

Blocking illegal moves at the code level, not just visually

Hiding normal moves when captures exist

Preventing selection of pieces that cannot capture

Proper rule enforcement like a real game engine

This episode focuses on correct game rules, clean architecture, and defensive logic, the same principles used in professional game development.

In the next episode, we’ll add king pieces and promotion, allowing pieces to move backward and gain more power.

If this helped you, like the video, subscribe, and I’ll see you in the next one.
