Thankfully, Earth’s magnetic field acts like a shield, protecting us from the worst effects. However, the northern and southern lights (auroras) could light up the skies in places they’re not usually seen. While it’s not the end of the world, scientists and engineers are keeping a close watch to minimize any problems these solar storms might cause.
