Allah says in the Quran:
ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُم بِٱللَّيْلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
"Alladhina yunfiquna amwalahum bil-layli wan-nahari sirran wa 'alaniyatan falahum ajruhum 'inda rabbihim, wa la khawfun 'alayhim wa la hum yahzanun."
"Those who spend their wealth by night and by day, secretly and openly, will have their reward with their Lord. No fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve."
And listen to what the Prophet, peace be upon him, taught us about charity. He said that charity extinguishes sins, just as water extinguishes fire. And he told us something amazing, that charity never decreases your wealth. Instead, Allah places barakah within it.
And charity is not only money, my dear sisters and brothers. The Prophet told us that every act of goodness is charity. A kind word is charity. A smile to your brother is charity. Even removing something harmful from someone's path is charity.
