This patient came to me with this growing lesion on the bottom of her foot for two months. I performed a punch biopsy, and the result was malignant melanoma, a deadly form of skin cancer. Immediate consultation to oncology was made. The plastic surgeon performed a wide excision of the lesion and repaired the defect with a flap transfer from her thigh. She is doing well. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy were not needed.
