What Is The SpinLaunch Small Satellite Launch Concept?

This aerospace company uses a colossal 100-meter-long arm to throw satellites into space.

Spinlaunch loads satellites into a carbon fibre projectile along with rocket engines and propellent tanks. A trolly system then transports the projectible to an enormous vacuum chamber housing the launch arm. The projectile is then attached to the arm and spun up to 450 revolutions per minute using electric motors.

After about 60 minutes the projectile reaches almost 8,500 kilometres per hour and is released breaking through an airtight seal and soring to 85 kilometres in altitude. The outer capsule of the projectile then separates, and the rocket engines take over, propelling the satellites to orbital velocity.

To withstand the 20,000 G during the spin, Spinlaunch has developed their own launch hardware providing customers with a turnkey 250,000-dollar solution to sending payload to space.
