Faceting a gemstone: amethyst cubic zirconia.

In this video i cut a piece of cubic zirconia , a man made gem material generally thought of as a diamond substitue. The high refractive index of 2.1 creates beautiful gems Although the hardness of 8.5, the gem can still be considered brittle and can chip or crack, I cut and polished the gemstone using diamond discs and compounds .
