ITBP All Women Team Makes History With Successful Everest Summit

India’s Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) conducted its first all-women Everest expedition, successfully reaching the summit of Mount Everest (8,848 m) on 21 May 2026 via the South Col route in Nepal. All 11 women climbers achieved the summit, marking a significant milestone in India’s mountaineering and paramilitary history.

👉🏼 Historic Summit Achievement
The 14-member team, including 11 women climbers and 3 support staff, completed the ascent in batches, with the first summit recorded at 06:52 hrs. Officials described the mission as a result of rigorous training, planning, and endurance in extreme high-altitude conditions.
