This is a great variation of an overhead tricep extension. We can do this same movement using a EZ curl bar, French bar, or a straight bar. Ideally we want to try to keep the elbows pointing as forward as possible. Joe has his elbows pointing outwards because he just doesn't have the same flexibility as someone who is much smaller. This has nothing to do with the weight he is using either. He did 20 reps which means it's very light for him. Regardless of elbows forward or elbows outward we want to get the biggest ROM possible.
