Today's sudoku comes with a sad story about how Mark attempted it and failed. It's by Aad van de Wetering and it's magnificent... although you might want to watch the start of the video before you try it... You can play the puzzle here:

Rules:
Normal sudoku rules apply. Cells separated by a knight’s move (in chess) cannot contain the same digit. Along the thermometer digits must increase from the bulb end. The blue tetrominoes contain the same 4 digits.

Rules:
Normal sudoku rules apply. In cages digits sum to the small clue in the top left corner of the cage. Digits cannot repeat in a cage. Clues outside the grid give the sum of the cells on the indicated diagonal. Digits may repeat along the diagonal.
