Climate Action Beyond Awareness: Engaging the Next Generation | Prachi Shevgaonkar

This talk is part of the International Mountain Day 2025 Conclave organised by Giripremi at Bhandarkar Institute, Pune, on 11 December 2025.

The conclave, titled “Melting Glaciers: A Wake-Up Call for Our Generation,” brought together scientists, mountaineers, educators, environmentalists, and youth to discuss the rapidly changing state of glaciers and their importance for water, food security, and livelihoods across the world.

The event featured expert talks, scientific insights, and lived experiences from the Himalayas, highlighting the urgent need for climate awareness, sustainability, and responsible engagement with mountains.

The day also marked the release of the English book “The Kanchenjunga Expedition,” co-authored by Umesh Zirpe and Bhushan Harshe, documenting the historic 2019 expedition.
