Definitely a big highlight of my current trip - I captured 3 students helping another student on the ‘independent task’.
.
What stood out was they weren’t just ‘telling’ the student what to write. They were ‘teaching’… they were using my language to challenge their classmate to think through the task. Their explanations showed a deep understanding.
.
They weren’t asked to help, in fact they also struggled at the start of the task. I watched and listened for a while (before recording as I didn’t want to interrupt) and I couldn’t of done a better job then they did!
