Ichiran Ramen the best ramen in Japan? Shopping for Japanese Kitkats - vlog #31 part 1

Hey guy's here's another two part Tokyo Food vlog. Today we'll be visiting a few places from Ichiran Ramen, Fruit Parlor Goto, and Don. Quixote to buy some japanese Kitkats in Asakusa. Trying Ichiran ramen has always been one of the things I wanted to try ever since the first reviews and vlogs of this place started to appear on Youtube. The question is is it really hype because everyone is on the band wagon or is Ichiran Ramen really the best in Japan?

Note I did not go to the original Ichiran location, however numerous reviews have said that Ichiran's consistency across multiple stores is really good. Ichiran specializes in a tonkotsu pork broth and has numerous locations throughout Japan and worldwide. Ordering is pretty straightforward with their vending machines and their sheets, and there are translated menus in english available.

Throughout my trip in Tokyo, I've eaten at many ramen locations and discovered numerous styles and types of broth created for ramen. Ichiran makes a really good tonkotsu ramen, however I do not think it is the best ramen in Tokyo. Even though my order I think didn't come with the spicy sauce, I still do not think it would have changed my opinion. Ichiran Ramen is really good compared to some of the options in the U.S., but in Japan I do not think it is the best.

Ichiran Ramen is the type of place where I would recommend anyone who hasn't had ramen before to eat there to try. Although these ramen styles and broths differ, I would recommend eating at the following below as the next level ups to ramen on your ramen adventures. The reviews and awards change on tabelog every year, however after visiting more than 30+ restaurants on my trip I can assure you that tabelog's reviews are pretty accurate.

Don Quijote has a really good selection of kitkats and snacks. It's a fairly popular discount store that has tons goods (basically a one stop shop) that has everything from electronics, food, clothes, jewelry, alcohol, and more!
