Easy running over the hills
This week, we are running an aerobic-base session of 1hr 40 mins over the hills. This gives us a good mix of endurance, climbing strength, and aerobic conditioning without adding too much fatigue. The hills naturally raise the effort a bit, so keeping the pace controlled is the key part here.
- You should be able to hold a conversation throughout.
- Breathing stays relaxed on the climbs.
- Resist pushing the descents or flattening out into tempo pace.
- Finish feeling like you could comfortably continue for another 15–20 minutes.
These easy sessions are what gradually improve durability and efficiency over time, which is our main goal at the moment
