A drummers main job is to support the song. Play the right drum beat at the right time that serves the song. As far as that is concerned, Dave Grohl is one of the best in my opinion. His list of recording credits and bands is insane: Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Probot, Them Crooked Vultures, Tenacious D, Killing Joke, Ghost, Dain Bramage, David Bowie, Slash, Michael Jackson, Nine Inch Nails, Scream, As Late!, and his recent project Play.
