1 - DIY
In Norway the need to refurbish a bathroom is a time for celebration!
It’s a chance to get your tools out, roll your sleeves up and enjoy a weekend of serious DIY.

And, if something goes seriously awry, you can always ask a neighbour. In fact, your neighbour will appreciate being asked! if there’s one thing better than DIY, it’s telling someone else how to do it.

Your neighbour will also have all the necessary tools stashed in his basement along with a couple of old sinks, some unused kitchen cabinets and a broken chair he is planning to fix one day.

2 - Outdoor Activities
If in Italy food is the second religion, here it’s outdoors activities.
Norwegians cannot imagine spending their life indoors.

If they have nothing to fix during the weekend, they will go hiking, or skiing or cross country skiing- depending on season.

3 - DAYLIGHT WINTER TIME

starting from November it’s getting dark at 4:10pm in the south Norway.
Northern Norway, I believe, this time of the year there’s no sunrise at all. It’s going to be dark until February.

Good news what has to be lit up will be perfectly lightened. I’m talking about ski stacks now - no issue to snowboard or ski in Norway in the evenings.

4 — coffee lovers

No matter what time of the day, no matter if it’s in the office or ski tracks - Norwegians will enjoy their filter coffee.

Norwegian culture is more about coffee - not tea like England or Russia.

5 - Eating at home not in the restaurant
Eating in the restaurant in Norway is expensive compare to other European.. and even Scandinavian countries.

Dinner in Norwegian restaurant if you add a glass of alcoholic beverage to it will cost you about £100 per one. That’s 3 courses + a glass of something.
Even me with 3 sources of income - I think twice before having my dinner out here.

6 - Everyone is cooking here

That’s how I see Norwegians : they all speak English and they all can cook.

So if you are planning to live in Norway you’ll have to learn how to cook.
Don’t rely too much on the restaurants, eating out and ready to eat food delivery here.

7 - Every Friday in a cake day in the office and every Saturday is sweets day at home

Its a tradition in Norway to have a cake day in the office every Friday.

8 - and on Sunday the supermarkets and other businesses are closed

9 - driving
Norwegians love to drive! Every household has at least 1 car, and a simple way to shock a Norwegian is to tell him that you don’t have a driving license.

Norwegian speed limits are painfully low. The National limit is just 80 kilometres per hour, and any road that goes remotely near a house will have a limit of 50km per hour or less.

9 - Norwegians are so laid back
That’s how I saw them when I just arrived to the country.

They are this laid back because they are perfectly organised!
They never in rush because they plan their time properly.
They never miss any deadline because when they work - they work and nothing can destruct them until 4pm.

11 - Christmas in Norway — ohh it’s a different subject!
I thought that Christmas is big in England. No way - it’s much cooler in Norway.
