How a Kid's Book Report Led to a Wright Brothers Watch Collaboration
Keywords: Wright Brothers watch, Wright Brothers limited edition, Beau Garret Wright Brothers, aviation watch, pilot watch brand, Wright family archives, Dayton Ohio Wright Brothers, limited edition timepiece, aviation history watch, homeschool success story
A homeschool book report led to a licensing deal with the Wright Brothers family. You can't make this stuff up.
In this clip from The Hitstreak, Beau Garret tells the story behind one of the most unlikely collaborations in aviation history. His son Kean spent three months researching the Wright family for a school project. The very next week, the family showed up to the same aviation show in Lakeland, Florida. Kean walked up to their booth, blew them away with everything he knew, and by the end of the event, Steven and Amanda Wright asked Beau if he'd consider licensing the Wright Brothers name for a limited edition watch.
What followed was a trip to Dayton, Ohio, where the Wright family opened their private archives. Beau pulled directly from notebooks, patent drawings, and personal artifacts to design three watches—the Bishop (honoring their father Milton), the Brothers (Orville and Wilbur), and the Catherine (their sister). Each case back is engraved with elements pulled straight from family history, including the toy helicopter that Orville and Wilbur both credit as their earliest inspiration for flight.
Only 50 of the Founder Series were ever made. They will never be made again.
👉 Some partnerships are planned. This one was ordained.
