The Antikythera Mechanism, often referred to as an out-of-place artifact, is one of the most fascinating and mysterious discoveries from the ancient world.

Found in 1901 by Greek sponge divers near the island of Antikythera, this complex device was buried in a shipwreck that dates back to around one hundred BCE.

Made of bronze gears and cogs, the Antikythera Mechanism is considered the earliest known analog computer.
