Vibrant or Muted: Which One Fits Your Style?

In this video I want to show you tow acrylic landscape paintings - the two paintings appear very different but they actually have a lot in common. They were painted using a very limited palette consisting of just 3 colors plus black and white.

The first landscape has a warm underpainting and a lot of very neutral colors layered on top. The warm underpainting gives the whole painting a very warm feeling and it also makes the cool blue and green accent colors stand out against all the warm muted grays. The colors are quite subdued, mostly different muted neutrals mixed from the color palette I just showed you.
The second painting is this much more vibrant landscape. Again I started with a warm underpainting and layered more colors on top. This time I didn’t add so many neutral, muted colors. And I added more saturated colors, especially in the foreground and middle ground. The colors are still mostly warm and make the light blue middle ground stand out.
Same color palette but different moods. Sister paintings - related but not the same.
