Long Distance Walks: Lark Valley Path - Part 2: Lackford to Bury St Edmunds

Part 2 of the Lark Valley Path leads through West Stow Country Park and the Culford Estate to end at the train station in Bury St Edmunds. There is a chance to detour off to see the reconstructed Anglo Saxon Village at West Stow, and to see the Iron Bridge and Culford Hall.

The Lark Valley Path is a 15 mile long waymarked trail between Bury St Edmunds and Mildenhall. Traditionally the route is walked from Mildenhall to Bury St Edmunds but it can be walked in either direction and in a single day - but much more enjoyable if split over two days! The trail visits numerous historic points of interest including ancient churches, the Icknield Way, the Iron Bridge and Culford Hall as well as dozens on wildlife rich habitats.

Distance: 16km
Ascent: 120m
Duration: 5 Hours
