Abandoned mystery shipwreck in the backwater or the Great Lakes shows signs of fiery disaster Part 2

Following the disastrous fire that made the once proud Great Lakes tug KATY REID into an abandon shipwreck resting in the murky backwater of the Saginaw River, we discovered her 127 once again. After 127 years her story was completely forgotten. In Part One of this story we saw her remains revealed by two rare low water events and were able get some clues as to who and what she was. Now, here in Part Two, you get my how-to lesson in researching and solving the mystery of which vessel this is and how she got where we found her. The clues take you in some odd directions, but in the end all fingers point to the long forgotten sidewheel steam tug KATY REID. If you want to know how it's done- this is a good lesson for you do it yourself research historians.
