2019 NEW Seiko Prospex Green Sumo SPB103J1 - 6R35 Caliber

We can all agree that the Seiko "Sumo" series watches are certainly one of the most popular and well respected diver watch among watch collectors from around the world. Its simple, yet elegant look, as well as one of the best quality & price ratio watch you currently find in the market.

Earlier this year at Baselworld 2019, Seiko announced a new “Sumo”, SPB101J1 (Black) & SPB103J1 (Green), which both are currently available in the market for purchase. The Seiko Prospex 200M Automatic Green Sumo Sapphire 3rd Gen Ref. SBDC081 / SPB103J1 (international reference) precursor initially released in 2007 under the reference. SBDC001/003, but now with drastic changes that will definitely get the attention it deserves from many watch enthusiasts.

One of the obvious and perhaps the most talked about upgrade for the new Sumo must be Seiko’s latest automatic caliber movement, 6R35, which is an upgrade from the workhorse 6R15. Its main updates are the increase of jewels to 24 and a power reserve of 70 hours from 50 hours on previous versions.
