"Mastering Timers on STM32 Using HAL Drivers"

Timers are among the most powerful peripherals available inside STM32 microcontrollers. They are used in nearly every embedded application, from generating delays and scheduling tasks to producing PWM signals for motor control and measuring external signals with extreme precision. Unlike software delays, hardware timers operate independently from the CPU, allowing applications to remain responsive and efficient.

The STM32 HAL drivers simplify timer configuration significantly by providing high-level APIs that abstract much of the low-level register manipulation. This allows developers to rapidly configure periodic interrupts, PWM outputs, encoder interfaces, input capture systems, and advanced timing applications while still maintaining excellent flexibility and performance.
