South Sudan takes full control of airspace with Chinese-built system

South Sudan has launched a Chinese-built Air Traffic Management system, marking the first time since independence in 2011 that the country can fully manage its own airspace. Built by China Harbour Engineering Company with a $200 million concessional loan from China, the system features modern radar, automated flight-data processing and upgraded communications to improve aviation safety and coordination.
