Saito Failure Analysis Design Flaw changed to Mechanical Failure

So as intriguing as this video and failure mechanism is I think I titled the video incorrectly. It should not be called "Design Flaw". It should just be "mechanical failure". After reviewing several other disassembly videos from various manufacturers, it seems that Saito uses the hollow crank pin, pressed into the counter weight quite extensively throughout their line of engines. Some other OS four strokes did was well. It was curious that the Magnum/ASP videos I had all showed solid pins and I know for a fact that OS DID change the 48 Surpass crankshafts to one piece of machined steel. I bought one and that is how it was. So after seeing these facts, it would seem that the failure here was most likely a manufacturing issue when pressing this into the counter weight, or the result of a hydrolock condition during startup, or possibly detonation that caused some initial material fatigue or crack. So don't all go out and cast aside any Saito engines that you find that have a hollow crank pin as I think you will find many like that. How you avoid this failure is proper care and avoiding detonation events and hydrolock on start up. I do know that this is the VERY first time I have ever heard of, read about, or seen a failure of this type on a Saito engine. Trust me, I have owned, run and seen a LOT of Saito engines in 30 years.
