Tufting: Cut Loop

A carrier material (web or woven fabric), into which the pile yarn can be inserted, is required for tufting. There are different techniques for this process and the individual designs: This animation specifically shows the process with a combination of loop pile and velour fabric (cut loop). At normal yarn tension, this results in a high cut pile, and at low tension a low loop pile.
