David Adler writes that "The final selection, 'Hommage: Mahler,' contains whiffs of the "Adagietto" movement of Gustav Mahler's 'Symphony No. 2.'" I'm not too familiar with Mahler, but does anybody know the part of the Symphony that would be relevant? A search for turns up Symphony No. 5 instead.
