conscious cultivation with Creator is required for life to blossom and our experience to thrive

freewill was gifted to us as our greatest tool for creation; and utilizing it to build a relationship with God has echoed throughout every spiritual texts and teaching for a reason:

• Solomon’s Song of Songs is about being with God as a passionate union, longing, and pursuit.

• (Jeremiah 29:12-13) Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

• (John 15:4) Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

• (James 4:8) Come near to God and he will come near to you

• (Revelation 3:20) Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

• (Bhagavad Gita 9:22) There are those who always think of Me and engage in exclusive devotion to Me. To them, whose minds are always absorbed in Me, I provide what they lack and preserve what they already possess.

• (Bhagavad Gita 18:65) Always think of Me, be devoted to Me, worship Me, and offer obeisance to Me. Doing so, you will certainly come to Me. This is My pledge to you, for you are very dear to Me.

• (Hadith 15, 40 Hadith Qudsi) I am as My servant thinks of Me… If he draws near to Me a hand’s span, I draw near to him an arm’s length. If he comes to me walking, I go to him running.”

• (Proverbs 8:17) I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

that aspect of building an intimate connection with Creator is what allows us to transcend, but like any relationship it requires time, energy, consistency, communication, and love. i like to see this journey of falling in love with God as the intentions of the prodigal son parable (Luke 15:11-32).

the catalyst and journeys we go through in order to awaken spiritually are the rock bottoms of waking up in the pig pen, and our journey back home (to God) is that ascension process. yet the beautiful aspect of the story is that it ends once the son has returned, it doesn’t go into what the son does after his return nor how long or if he stays.

because that’s where this conscious cultivation comes in for each of us. we must develop our own relationship and enamor with being back home in relation with Source, to fall in love with it, to honor it, and even when we venture outside that the lessons and connection with home can never leave us or be taken from us. that no matter the journey, we can always return home to God.
this is all part of our spiritual development and maturity, once we end the teenage rebellion we can return to rebuild that relationship with Source from a place of wisdom, appreciation, and care.
