Avoiding the double-tap
A bad habit many young infielders get into is the double-tap. I wrote about this habit a while back and thought I'd make a video of it too. The consequences of the habit vary depending on the infield position played but all players should work to avoid it. Infielders should always practice the most efficient foot and glove work in order to make those mechanics their body's default mechanics. They can always add steps (including a tap or two) if they have time but if they don't, their body needs to be very familiar with the most efficient, default steps that avoid things like a double-tap.
