"bass player things: my neck-traveling technique got me:

It's wild but I actually know how to make your bass playing resonate.

And I’ve got the technique to prove it.

Not only does it change the way you play…

…but it makes your sound felt by everyone in the room.

It gets even more wild.

I actually know how to make your notes stand out BEFORE you play them.

For example, playing across the neck will PROBABLY make your sound more impactful.

BUT it does require moving your hand, so it MIGHT surprise you with how much better it sounds.

However, sticking to one position will likely make you disappear in the mix.

So you see, I’ve got this down to a science. 🎸

There is ONE technique that determines your sound and it is:

Playing across the neck

Meaning how much your sound resonates and is felt by the audience.

Now, there’s lots of ways to enhance this resonance but here are my 2 favorite ways:

☑️ Use the thicker strings for a deeper "mmm" sound

☑️ Travel up the neck to make your notes felt, not just heard

If I want my sound to stand out, I always include AT LEAST one.

Go back to some of my more impactful performances and you’ll see that they always include one of these two elements, if not both.

So now you know!

And now you can make your bass playing resonate too!

Follow for more practical bass playing tips just like this! 🎶

And if you know someone who’s also trying to improve their bass playing, please share it with them! 🙏🏼
