The 8 Most Powerful Witches in Harry Potter (RANKED)

Hey everyone,

Welcome to another installment of Harry Potter Theory. Before we kick things off, I just want to say happy new year to all of you, and thank-you all for your continued support with the channel. 2020 was a big year for Harry Potter Theory- as we grew from just 29000 to a staggering 242000 subscribers. I’ve got tons of videos in the works, and I implore you to leave your video suggestions down below, as I DO read the comments, and I DO make requested videos!

For today’s video, we’re going to be taking a look at the 8 most powerful WITCHES of the wizarding world. I’ve made videos ranking the most powerful gryffindors, death eaters, aurors, order of the phoenix members, Dumbledore’s army members - you name it, but on many of those lists we end up seeing powerful WIZARDS, that is- male magical folk, occupying some of the slots. What I want to do with this video is focus on the powerful WITCHES of the wizarding world- female magical folk- the Molly Weasleys, the Bellatrixes, the Hermiones. This video was actually requested earlier TODAY- but it seemed like a great idea to celebrate the witches of the wizarding world- so here we are.

Without further ado, here are the 8 most powerful witches in the wizarding world:

8. Hermione Granger:

I know what you’re thinking..Hermione..NUMBER 8? Well- over the course of wizarding history #8 isn’t so bad. Hermione Granger was one of the most talented witches of her entire year, and the entire school for that matter. She began attending Hogwarts at the same time as Harry/Ron, and given her affinity for learning and knowledge it’s no surprise that she became a talented witch. She had a thirst for knowledge, and, through her dangerous adventures with Harry and Ron, became ready for anything and everything that came her way. I think Hermione’s power lies in her well roundedness- as she is competent in a broad spectrum of magical abilities.

7. Lily Potter

Lily Potter, born Lily Evans, was an English muggle-born witch born in the year 1960. Most notably, she was the mother of Harry Potter- and one of the main reasons for Voldemort’s initial downfall. Lily excelled in school, and quickly became widely recognized as an extremely powerful witch. In fact, Voldemort attempted to recruit Lily to the death eaters in spite of the fact that she was a muggle born - a true testament to her abilities. Lily Potter was particularly skilled at martial magic- fighting off Voldemort on numerous occasions, potion-making, charms, and transfiguration. Lily’s most notable and most impressive accomplishment to date was her loving sacrifice which allowed Harry Potter to live-simultaneously killing Voldemort (for a time).
