Lehman's Part 1 County and Store Tour

Step back in time with Joe as he visits Holmes and Wayne Counties in Ohio. This is the largest Amish community in the United States.

A quick visit to Pioneer Equipment Company Was founded in the 1970s and is now employing 40 people. It is a one stop shop for horse drawn farming. They manufacture plows, harrows, cultivators, wagons, fore carts, sleds PTO Carts and more. Draft horse gear includes eveners, yokes, running gears, and rims.

This store started in 1955 to help local Amish find the supplies for their independent self sustaining lifestyle. It has grown and now serves people with those same needs all over the world. During the energy crisis in the 1970's the business expanded greatly due to the increase in wood stove/heater sales.

The business is now run by his children Galen and Glenda. The business has grown and is now a destination in itself. They now pride themselves on being not only a store but a resource for education in self sufficient living and experts on the equipment they sell.

Glenda walks us around the store to all the departments including:

you needs.
