I break down the concept of partial differentiation, show how to take the partial derivative with respect to each variable and how collect the partial derivatives in a vector to find the gradient, as well as walk through a step-by-step example to help you fully understand the process.

Partial derivatives are important in vector calculus as they are used to calculate the gradient of a function. Gradient calculations are important for algorithms like gradient descent which are often used in machine learning, data science, ai and deep learning to minimize an error function.
