Pakistan Shares Ceasefire Plan | Iran Rejects Trump Ultimatum | 08 PM Headlines News

Pakistan has shared a proposed ceasefire framework with the United States and Iran, aiming to reduce rising tensions in the region. According to international reports, the plan includes an immediate ceasefire in the first phase, followed by a comprehensive peace agreement within 15 to 20 days.
The proposal also suggests reopening the Strait of Hormuz if a ceasefire is implemented. In return, Iran would assure not to develop nuclear weapons, while economic sanctions could be eased and frozen assets restored. A consensus on the agreement is expected soon.
Iran has confirmed receiving Pakistan’s ceasefire proposal but stated that it will not accept any deadlines or external pressure. Iranian officials emphasized that reopening the Strait of Hormuz is not guaranteed under a temporary ceasefire.
Meanwhile, the United States has extended its deadline for Iran by 24 hours. President Donald Trump stated that negotiations are ongoing and hinted at possible control over Iranian oil resources. A major press conference with military leadership is expected.
Iran has rejected Trump’s ultimatum, warning of strong retaliation against any attacks on its infrastructure. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated that any response would be felt across the region.
In diplomatic developments, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held discussions with Japan’s Foreign Minister, focusing on reducing tensions in the Middle East.
On the economic front, Pakistan has arranged payments worth $4.8 billion by June, including $3.5 billion to the UAE, with additional financial support expected from friendly countries.
In domestic news, authorities in Peshawar have launched investigations into exam paper leaks, suspending 17 teachers involved in misconduct.
