Exploring Cedar Rock State Park with Cabernet

On a cold spring day at the Walter House in Cedar Rock State Park, I took a quiet walk with my dog, Cabernet, along the winding paths that frame Frank Lloyd Wright’s striking Usonian design. The chill in the air sharpened the scent of damp earth and early buds, and Cabernet’s breath puffed in little clouds as he trotted beside me, ears perked and tail waggling with curiosity. The house’s clean lines and warm stone contrasted with the sunny sky, giving the whole scene a calm, almost contemplative feel. Moving through that landscape with Cabernet made the brisk day feel softer, like the park was slowly waking up for the season.
