Grover Norquist, President of Americans for Tax Reform, believes that President Trump should sign the recently approved $900 billion stimulus package that’s currently sitting on his desk.

He explained: "We got a better-than-one-could-possibly-imagine deal given that Nancy Pelosi had the veto. I would start by signing this bill and then looking at anything else you want to do."

Norquist also stated: "The Democrats still have the House of Representatives. They can stop anything they want to."

With both sides agreeing that the new stimulus package is fair for all parties and will provide some much needed fiscal relief to millions of Americans, hopefully we can see the bill signed into law soon.

Meanwhile, high ranking Democrats in Congress are pushing forward legislation to provide Americans with stimulus checks for $2,000.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi explained in a letter: "Republicans repeatedly refused to say what amount the President wanted for direct checks. At last, the President has agreed to $2,000 — Democrats are ready to bring this to the Floor this week by unanimous consent. Let's do it!"

She continued: "In the bipartisan negotiations, Leader Schumer and I repeatedly asked Republicans what would be the highest number the President would accept for direct payments, and they responded with Sphinx-like silence. In the negotiations, they would never go above $600 and in some cases, proposed $500."

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer echoed Pelosi’s comments, explaining in a tweet: "the American people deserve it."

I’m glad to hear that our politicians are fighting to get us $2,000 stimulus checks, as many of y’all in the comments have explained that a $600 stimulus check feels like a slap in the face after months of waiting.

Finally, why are we talking about a new $2,000 stimulus check after the $900 billion stimulus package was already approved by Congress?

Well, it looks like President Trump is looking to shake some things up in his last month leading the nation, and made a shocking video last night, threatening that he may veto the new stimulus package if $2,000 stimulus checks aren’t included in the disaster relief bill.

Trump explained in a video on Twitter: “I am asking Congress to amend this bill and increase the ridiculously low $600 to $2,000, or $4,000 for a couple.”

He also called the $900 billion stimulus package a “disgrace,” and expressed his disdain with unnecessary items in the 5,593 disaster relief bill.

I’m all for $2,000 stimulus checks, but if it comes at the risk of not getting a bill approved this week, this might cause more havoc than good.
