Hot water experts these days tend to be experts in new hot water systems and installations and genuine plumbing maintenance experts are getting fewer and far between. In this video, our local Plumbdog plumber based in Perth shows us how a minor service can bring life back to a hot water system saving our customers the cost of buying a whole new hot water system.

Our obedient Plumbdog Darius is called out because the client is experiencing issues with their Bosch 10P hot water system that’s not producing the hot water it used to. Upon initial inspection, Darius notices that there is leaking around the spindle in the system and signs of scorching on the heat exchanger.

Darius firstly replaces the o-ring on the spindle to stop the leak. Next he removes and inspects the water section and finds that the diaphragm which controls the gas flow in the system is in really poor condition and so replaces it. There are a few other service steps and adjustments which Darius carries out such as setting the burner pressure in order for the system to run efficiently.

This video just goes to show how regular servicing and true plumbing maintenance can save you money. Others may have simply suggested replacing with a new hot water system.
