Introduction to Roses
In this video, Expert Rosarian, Paul Zimmerman, shares more of his wisdom with us, walking us through the basics of roses, their classifications, and more!
As Paul says, roses are plants, too! They are just flowering shrubs, which means gardeners shouldn’t be intimidated by them. Roses come in all shapes and sizes. In this video, Paul highlights the 5 main types of roses: Hybrid Tea, Floribunda, Shrub Roses, Ground Cover Roses, and Climbing Roses.
Paul also discusses choosing between a bareroot and a container rose, the difference between the two, and how to choose the right one for you and your gardening needs. You will also learn some fun facts on the anatomy of the rose bush - Rose Bud Eye, Manipulating growth, and the basics of dead heading.
We can always count on Paul Zimmerman to show us how wonderful and rewarding rose gardening can be!
Thanks for watching, and Happy Gardening!
