The Troubles (1968–1999) is a year-by-year documentary series exploring one of the most turbulent and defining periods in modern Irish and British history.
Each episode focuses on a single year of the Troubles, tracing the key events, political developments, violence, community tensions, peace efforts, and human consequences that shaped Northern Ireland from the civil rights marches of 1968 to the fragile aftermath of the Good Friday Agreement.
This series is intended as a clear, respectful, and historically grounded account of the conflict, examining the experiences of ordinary people as well as the wider forces of nationalism, unionism, republicanism, loyalism, British government policy, Irish government involvement, policing, protest, grief, resistance, and the long search for peace.
