Tudor Black Bay 58 Navy Blue Review #tudor #tudorblackbay #tudorblackbay58 #luxurywatches

The Blue Tudor Black Bay 58 spoke to me three years ago and I felt that it was the watch I deserved. A gift for all current and future milestones.

It was just the right size for my 6 and a half inch wrist. It comes in at 39mm in diameter and 11.9mm in height (47mm lug to lug). And it’s really smaller than the standard Black Bay’s 41mm diameter and much thinner than its hefty 15mm height.

Is 39mm the perfect diameter? Of course it’s relative to the size of the wrist and how it wears, but it’s apparently a trend nowadays to choose smaller watches.

The stainless steel case has both a polished and satin finish with bevelled lugs. I love the finish coz I wear this when we go out most of the time and I don’t mind the hairline scratches that I get when I carry the butt of my baby with this hand. I just need to be careful so that I don’t scratch his skin, coz this watch does have a few sharp edges.

It has a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating surrounded by a unidirectional rotating bezel with an anodized aluminium insert. Not the blingy ceramic bezels that you get from Rolex’s. I don’t like calling too much attention to myself, so I really like this better. The aluminum bezel is low key and discrete and not as flashy. Most wouldn’t even recognize if someone was wearing a Tudor.

The bezel colour is matte blue with silver Arabic numerals every ten minutes and a detailed 15-minute scale. It turns with a very refined 60 clicks.

The triangular marker at 12 o’clock is a matching silver with a luminescent pearl, replacing the red triangle on the standard gilt model. I love how every single minute detail catches the light, and I don’t know about you , but I end up staring at my watch sometimes for a few minutes just to marvel at the craftsmanship.

The oversized crown has Tudor’s rose emblem embossed, and it’s easy to pull and turn to adjust the time. It’s water resistant up to 200m. I’ll never ever swim with something this expensive, but I promised myself that if I were to buy a luxury watch, it should be something that I can wear even when I’m washing the dishes! A tool watch that you don’t have to baby.

The vintage styling inspired by the Tudor Submariner makes sure that 50 years from now, the design would still look timeless.

I had fun shooting and editing my first ever long form watch review.
