Romain Grosjean Walked Out of Fire #history #f1

During the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix, Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean crashed at approximately 221 km/h after making contact with another car on the opening lap. His vehicle struck the barrier, split in two, and immediately burst into flames in one of the most dramatic accidents seen in modern Formula 1.

Despite the severity of the crash, Grosjean escaped the fire after roughly 28 seconds, suffering burns to his hands but surviving largely thanks to modern F1 safety systems such as the halo cockpit device, fire-resistant equipment, and reinforced chassis design. The incident became a major case study in how safety engineering has transformed the sport.
