Creamy Pesto Salmon Pasta 🍝🐟

Ingredients

* 12 oz (340g) penne, fusilli, or your favorite pasta
* 1 lb (450g) fresh salmon fillet, cut into bite-sized chunks
* ½ cup basil pesto sauce
* 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
* 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
* 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
* ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
* Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
* ½ cup reserved pasta cooking water

## Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until tender with a slight bite. Before draining, reserve ½ cup of the cooking water.

2. Pat the salmon dry and season lightly with salt and black pepper.

3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the salmon pieces and cook until lightly golden on all sides, about 4–5 minutes total. Transfer to a plate.

4. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic to the same skillet and sauté briefly until fragrant.

5. Stir in the basil pesto and lemon juice. Pour in a splash of the reserved pasta water and stir until the sauce becomes smooth and silky.

6. Return the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until evenly coated with the pesto sauce.

7. Gently fold the salmon back into the pasta, being careful not to break the pieces apart.

8. Sprinkle generously with Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.
