Widespread container adoption has inadvertently overburdened developers. While Dockerfiles simplified initial container creation, they lack the abstraction needed to clearly delineate responsibilities between developers and platform teams. This often results in developers managing operational tasks like app containerization, base image maintenance, and remediating third-party vulns--time-consuming burdens that hinder productivity.
