The visitors got off to a dream start after an unfortunate own goal from Osani Ricketts handed Cavalier the early lead. But the response was immediate, as Jason Wright came back to haunt his former club with a well-taken finish to bring the home side level.
Cavalier FC regained control before the break, with Akil Henry finding the back of the net to give the defending champions a 2-1 advantage heading into halftime.
In the second half, Cavalier showed their class and experience, extending their lead through Adrian Reid before Excelsior standout Kimarly Scott sealed the victory with his first goal of the season in style.
