"Cartoonish" - Special Effects Thermal Video
The special effects shown in this video came from the preparations for the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 in Las Vegas.
We used a very high end FLIR Thermal Camera (FLIR A8303sc) with 720p resolution and added custom image post-processing. The cool thing is that the special effects are only being applied to warm objects, like humans in the scene.
We were shooting for a cartoonish like effect that would work in real-time. This effect was shown at the CES 2018 on a 40ft large screen. It grabbed a lot of attention from the trade show visitors. The display was nominated to be one of the ten best displays at CES 2018.
