The Far Lands (also known as Farlands) were a terrain generation bug in Minecraft that acted as a hard world boundary. They appeared when the game's terrain generation system malfunctioned, creating massive, distorted walls of terrain about 12.5 million blocks from spawn. The landscape looked like normal terrain that had been stretched and torn apart, forming weird formations of stone, dirt, and other blocks.
