A referral program is not magic.

It still needs volume.

Raul Galera from ReferralCandy said something in our conversation that I think a lot of eCommerce brands need to hear:

Even if your customers say they would refer their friends, only a fraction of them actually will. And only a fraction of those friends will actually buy.

That means you need a real funnel behind it.

But here is the big opportunity:

If your brand already has happy customers, strong reviews, good customer service interactions, and people are already talking about you, then you are probably in a great position to start building a referral program.

Raul mentioned that once a brand is doing around 500 to 1,000 orders per month, they are usually in a solid spot to start.

That makes a lot of sense to me.

Referrals work best when they are not forced. They work when customers already love the product and just need a simple reason to share it.

Paid ads can bring traffic. But happy customers can bring trust. And trust converts.
