In this lecture, we solve Numerical 4.5 from Chapter 4: Turning Effect of Forces of Class 9 Physics according to the Punjab Textbook Board (New Syllabus).
This numerical is based on the Principle of Moments and its application in a real-life tool called a crowbar. A crowbar works as a lever, where a small force applied at a larger distance can lift a heavy load.
We use the concept:
👉 Clockwise Moment = Anticlockwise Moment
👉 F₁ × d₁ = F₂ × d₂
Where:
F = force applied
d = perpendicular distance from pivot
In this problem, a force is applied at one end of the crowbar, and we calculate the weight lifted at the other end using the principle of moments.
